PCA Portland Chapter Year-End Recap: Celebrating 2024 and Looking Ahead to 2025

Dear PCA Portland Chapter Members and Industry Friends,

As we close the chapter on another year, we want to take a moment to reflect on the milestones and efforts that have defined the Painting Contractors Association Portland Chapter in 2024. This year marked our 87th year of existence, and we remain committed to fostering success among local painting contractors.

At the core of our mission is the dedication to the success of our members through the promotion of professional ethics, skill building, peer-to-peer support, and encouragement. We provide opportunities for painting contractors to develop and grow their businesses, from educational programs to local networking meetings, and the utilization of the PCA Industry Standards.

Here are some of the highlights from this memorable year and things to look forward to in the new year:

2024 Recap

  1. Kick-Off Happy Hour (January)
    We started the year with an energetic gathering at Wildwood Taphouse in Cedar Mill. Members and industry friends joined us for an evening of networking, reconnecting, and setting the tone for a successful year ahead.

  2. Mastery Essentials: Elevating Your Skills for Success with the Basics (February)
    This impactful educational event focused on refining fundamental skills essential to success in the painting industry, providing invaluable insights and tools for attendees.

  3. Growing Your Profit Through Repeat & Referral Business (April)
    In April, we hosted an event dedicated to helping members enhance their businesses by building stronger client relationships and leveraging referrals for sustainable growth.

  4. Annual Golf Tournament (June 20)
    Our annual golf tournament at Stone Creek Golf Club was a resounding success! With stunning scenery and incredible support from participants and  sponsors, the event highlighted the camaraderie and partnership within our community.

  5. Market Strategies Roundtable: Are You Fully Booked for Winter? (October)
    This roundtable event provided members with actionable strategies to keep their schedules full during the slower months, fostering meaningful discussions and connections.

Looking Ahead to 2025

As we prepare for an even more exciting year, we’re thrilled to share some of the key events and initiatives planned for 2025:

2025 Kick-Off Happy Hour - Register!

    • Date: January 22, 2025
      Time: 4:00 PM
      Location: Wildwood Taphouse, 12545 NW Cornell Rd., Portland, OR 97220

    • Join us for an evening of networking and celebration as we usher in the new year together. Registration is only $10 per person.

    Vendor Showcase and Networking Event - Register!

      • Date: February 20, 2025
        Time: 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM
        Location: Pacific Industrial Painting, 455 SE 2nd Ave, Hillsboro, OR 97123

      • This mini trade-show event will connect contractors, vendors, and affiliates while showcasing the latest innovations in the painting and coatings industry. More information and registration coming soon!

      Educational and Networking Events

        • Dates: April 16 and October 15, 2025
          Time: 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM
          Location: Buffalo Gap, 6835 S Macadam Ave, Portland, OR 97219

        • These events will focus on expanding your business and providing essential skills, with CCB credit available.

        Annual Golf Tournament - Save the date!

          • Date: June 19, 2025
            Location: Stone Creek Golf Club, Oregon City, OR

          • Save the date for our signature event that combines fun, networking, and a beautiful day on the course.
